Default Splake from my christmas break

The biggest is 16", we caught about 35 total for two of us but lots of small ones. Had to keep a few of the little guys that got gill hooked.

not too bad, it was only about -15, and burying them in a bunch of snow keeps them from freezing...i did have to rinse them off so they actually looked like fish in the pic though.

No need to carry a cooler, huh? Looks like good eatin', although I've never tried those before. They taste good?

They are like brook trout in taste, very red meat. Shaun300 try burying them in powdery snow, even at -30 or 40 it keeps fish from freezing too much.

a cross breed between lake trout and brook trout. THey have lost most of their colour from being frozen. THey look pretty much like a brook trout only with a forked tail, and a more pointed nose.
