    Default Another Shack pic!

Here are some pics from sat.The fish you see down the hole is a 8 lb rainbow that stuck around for 30-45 min but wouldnt bite. The ice blocks show how thick the ice was last week. This week it's thicker. We caught 4 rainbows & 5 whitefish. WOW!!! those are AWESOME pics sasksheds!! next time i am at home i will try and take a pic of a pike or a whitefish down our hole. you sure do have a lot of ice up there, thats for sure. and that is a neat looking shack you have there. sure beats standing out in the cold eh!?! do you have heat in yours? we have a woodstove that keeps it about 20-30'c (70-85'f) on there all the time sure is warm in there.

Looking at those pictures makes a GA boy kinda scared! I have never seen water frozen like that, I think it would take some getting used to before I could sit on top like that and look down. How deep is that water?

The water is 8 ft deep where we are.The shacks are insulated & polied so all we have to do is run a propane heater to keep us comfy. It was -30'c outside that day.

It's a diff feeling when you here the ice cracking all around you. It's really crazy when it cracks right through your hole! When other trucks drive to close you can here the ice cracking or when it is really cold.Something you would def have to get use to.It's fun taking guys that have never been.Whe we are driving on the ice I always tell them to watch out the back window. As long as we stay in front of the crack we leave behind us we'll be alright!)

SO much fun! Last winter when i brought my girlfriend up north and took her ice fishing for the first time we went on teh snowmachines. We were the first sleds on this trout lake since it was opening day and we hit some real deep slush. The two of us were on a 600 but even then we were slowing a lot. we got through and as soon as i got my helmet off she started yelling. She thought that was open water under the snow and that we almost drowned lol I had a hard time convincing her there was a foot of ice under it.

I sometimes think icefishermen are more fanatical than deer hunters. When the ice starts melting Ive seen guys take planks out and lay across the open water to get across it to the ice.Ive seen em put thier trucks through the ice and have thier wifes car out on it the next morning.Ive seen them sit out on buckets in the middle of a lake in cold that would make most men cry.Guesse what Im trying to say is you icefishermen are a good bunch of guys Im personally waiting patiently for the soft water to come back
