Trout fishing

I am gonna head up to Blue River tomorrow and try my luck. For those of you that don't know where Blue River is it is just northeast of Tishomingo, OK by a few miles. Now if I can just figure out how to tie this dang leader to the fly line. As you can tell I just bought my first flyrod today so drop me some tips.

Hutch, I like using a line leader loop connector. There simple and changing leaders is quick and simple. They also sell eyelets that are placed in the end of the leader but talk about a pain in the butt to put in! They also sell leader links but I dont know much about those. Well I went yesterday and caught 5. 3 Rainbows and 2 Speckled. Caught all of them on a tube jig with 1/32 hook and a lightweight undercast with green mono line. Tried fly fishing and did not catch anything the local store there told me the fly fisherman had not been doing so well lately. Our local limit is 6 per day. I caught all five within 2 hour so I can't complain.

Bought some waders this weekend for the wife gonna take her up there and see if we can't have some fun together.

its -26 here. we have lots of ice up here too so there's no hope in fly fishing! we go ice fishing up to a lake in the Ottawa Valley, a group of 13 of us went up and caught our limits within an hour and 10 minutes... thats 65 speckles.... boy they were good!!! mmmmM!!

Thank god it is not that cold around here. Although it has been raining and is about 35 degrees.
