One of our local hunting shops is going out of business and has all of their guns 20% off. there is a H&R single-action .22 that is $140. Does anyone have any experience with these? I don't see where you could go wrong with that price...

Can't really tell ya without knowing the model...
See if you can find out the model, finish, barrel length and what type of sights it has.

sorry, i should have given more info. It comes with laminated bisley-style grips, blued 4or 6" barrel, and has fixed sights. It comes with .22lr and .22mag cylinders.
$140 is right in the ball park for that gun.

If the price goes down any more, I might get it just so i can get some cheap practice in with a single-action. I have a Vaquero, but can't afford to do a whole lot of shooting with it!
Good gun at a good price. The H&Rs are accurate and reliable. Being a single-shot there is not alot that can go wrong with it so it is low maintainance. If I were you I would get it and then put a good scope on it and you have the ultimate squirrel gun at a low price.
Sounds like a good price on that gun.. JMO
I know I can't buy one for that around here!
Well I had to work late every evening and by the time i finally got up there they were gone. But my brother bought a nice Ruger Bearcat. It has a little bit smaller frame than the H&R, but it is much better quality and shoots very well.
if you don't mind me prying and being nosy what did he pay for the bearcat, and whats the ammo cost? Just being nosy lol
He paid-actually my sister in law did for his birthday-$275 for it. It is a .22 so ammo is cheap. It is a very nice gun if you want a single-action revolver in .22 caliber. It has some pretty engraving on the cylinder. We have shot it a good bit and it is suprisingly accurate.
