    Default Plunger pin on 1911\'s

I was wondering if there was an easy way when reassembling your 1911 to get the plunger pin in when you are trying to get it back together. It seems there would be an easier way, I find mysef using a knife edge to push it in and doing everything quickly.

I bought a Marvel Safety Detent Depressor when I started working on 1911 guns. It works well.

Take the handle end of a old toothbrush and grind it flat then file in a small indentation to engage the pin. This works well and is cheap.

I use an old credit card. It will not make a scratch mark. The real tool would probably be best but I had never seen one before.

Thanks for the info, I don't know why I didn't think of using an old card, probably cause I was so irritated with trying to get the gun back together I wasn't thinking straight.
