Default good expanding ammo for my .25 auto

I have a .25 auto that was my granddads. It is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and I was thinking about using it for my concealed carry. I want something that will expand very well. I don't plan on using it for anything but protection.... but if I were actually in the situation to protect myself or family want a bullet that will perform well. I am not planning on reloading ammo for it... but just want some good expanding factory ammo. Any ideas?

Personally, I would get something else for protection and keep this gun to plink around with. These smaller caliber guns are not very effective, especially if your attacker is high on certain drugs. They may never feel it and still will be able to cause harm to you or your family! For protection, I would not use anything under a .380 with hollow points. JMHO!

ok... I own a .40 glock, but it is too big to conceal. I know a .25 is small...but I was just wanting something that in some situations to carry in my pocket. It has a grip safety, so it would be safe.

If my ONLY choice for a CCW was a .25 Auto........ .......... I'd have it loaded with Glaser Safety Slugs or some other specialized, highly frangible loading.

I am big on piping up with anecdotal evidence, so here's this: the only guy I ever saw that was put down with a .25 was shot in the back of the head while he was asleep. I think you put Grandpa's gun in a nice little display case and buy a baby Glock to go with your big one. The gun will feel familiar to you, it is reliable, and the baby can use the big one's magazines, too. If you are going to trust it in a life/death situation, don't roll the dice, IMHO.

Wouldn't care a 25 auto for defence. I would much rather have a 22, but would prefer 9mm and up.

Maybe a little late on this one, I carry a Kel-Tec p40 in law enforcement and in the vehicle. You can place in in your pocket and not know its there. 10 round mag. speer gold dot lawman ammo 180 gr works great

Great advice if it's in the budget and you can find one.

There are Glocks around here to be had, but they are going pretty fast. They are going from $510-$600 depending on where your at. The local pawn shop here has a new G27 in 40Cal for $529. I got my wifes this weekend at another place for $508+tax
