    Default Rain Suit

Suggestions for a good, not TOO expensive, rain suit?

watch cabelas Harv. lots of times they have the goretex knock offs that work just as well on sale if you're not real particular about the camo design.

how much you willing to spend?

i'd say to get some type of quality laminate you're going to spend nearly $200 or so.

My local hunting store is running drop dead low prices to clear out some Whitewater rain gear. I don't know why. If I didn't already have a Cabela's Rain Suede suit I'd be jumping on it. I believe it is in Hardwoods HD. If you're interested let me know and I can call them and find out if they'd take your credit card order over the phone and ship it. If I remember right they have the whole suit for well under $100.

I bought a rain coat and pants from Cabela's a couple years ago on clearance. It was like $200 regular price and I got it for around $80 if memory serves me correct. It is not Gore-Tex, but it serves it's purpose. I try not to hunt in the rain much, except for ducks or geese.

Watch after season sales at any place that sells hunting gear. That is when you can pick up some deals. Rain gear is one of those items that there does not seem to be a large demand for by the typical hunter, so you should be able to pick some up for a deal.

Now if you want it for making a hunting trip to some place like Alaska where I've read it can rain non stop, then I'd spare no expense and get the best stuff out there.

I got a real decent rain suit at Walmart a few years ago! Its not Gore-Tex, but it sure works great! Its made by Sterns. It was about $70 for both top and bottom. But the best thing it is Realtree hardwoods!!!
