Default Back O\' truck or a trailer

How do you haul your 4 wheeler? I have a 2500HD and short ramps...I need a trailer.

What do you guys who have trailers suggest for a size? I am looking at 6 X 10 or 6 X 12. They sell for around 850 here new (with suspension). I am intending on attaching a drybox of some sort to the front of it for hunting equipment.

I have one that is 5'X8' and it works great. The only problem I have is that the end gate is the ramp to load it and when there is ice and snow, it builds up and it is hard to close. I could fix it real easy by putting in a couple of braces and use a steel diamond sheet instead of plywood.

I also have a set of ramps and they work good! I got them from Cabela's.

I use the trailer when I am going elk hunting to keep the bed open on the truck to haul out a critter!

Don't have a 4 wheeler but would probably haul it on a trailer.

I had a 5x8 for my atv before we moved.........if I had it to do all over again, I would have bought a 6x10.

Our honda rides in the back of my 3/4 ton chevy when I take it anywhere. Have homemade steel ramps made with round tubing, they slide under the 4 wheeler after it is loaded, and can close the tailgate. Have the extended cab, so plenty of room in the truck for gear if I ever take a hunting trip.

Can find trailers here like you are looking for on average for about $600 new, a little cheaper for a 5 X 10. some places have cheaper prices, but you got to be careful who you buy from though, some places I know of around here sell new trailers with old tires.

Swamp, i am with you.I have a 2500hd chevy and it sits up pretty good. i have no ramps so i usally have to find a hill.

Last year i took an old pop-up camper we had and made it into my 4 wheeler trailer. i just have to run the lights now and get it registered.

Used to load mine in the back of the truck...but had issues with the ramps when it was wet or snowy before. Also seen a few back windows broke out from front racks of atv's. I now use a 6'X12' trailer...easier to load and unload and can fit 2 atv's very easy. Can get three on it if needed. Sometimes a little tricky getting a 2500HD crew cab with a 12' trailer in and out of places...but still better (IMO) than loading in the bed of the truck.

Trailers are like a house or garage. As soon as you get one, it isn't big enough. A double wide snowmobile trailer would be a good investment. 10 ft. long, 101". You'd have all the room you need to put gear next to the wheeler. They also tend to hold their value well. They are also easier to back up than some of the shorter trailers. The wider trailer is easier to see in your mirrors. Just my opinion.

Swampy...my trailer is a 6' x 12' and I can easily haul my cart and my son's ATV on it. My cart requires more room than an ATV. Several friends of mine have a 5' x 8' trailer to haul 1 ATV and they have plenty of room for 1 at that size, with some room to spare.

I used to put mine in the back of my HD, until one of the cables that had not yet been recalled on the '01's decided to break and I almost had the 4 wheeler loaded on me. I have used the trailer since then.

If you go with the trailer get the wider version, that way if you need to you can load the atv's from the side. Plus bigger is almost always better.

I have a small trailer that I use for mine. If I put it in the back of the 250 it just sits a little too close for comfort to the back window. I need to find a better trailer though for mine.

if you go with the trailer, I suggest at least something 12 ft long, so just in case you can fit 2 ATV's on it....I have a 5X10 and I can't get 2 on mine and wish I would have sprung for the xtra $100 bucks and got the 12 ft one..
