    Default QuakerBoy\'s \"Doe Bleat in a Can\"?????

I have had the "Lil Can" by Primos for a couple years now, and although I think it sounds real good, it has not done a dang thing for me.
Compared to the larger ones it does kinda sound like a fawn bleat more then a doe bleat.
    JMO
Well I went to go snag me "The Great Big Can" by Primos but Walmart was wiped out, and so was Dick's Sporting Goods.

Dick's had a bunch of these QB Cans on the shelf and it made me wonder why they had so many of those and none of the Primos.
I would of perfered Primos but I gave the QB Can a flip and it was 4x louder then any "Can" call I have heard yet!
Plus it came with a rubber cover for one end which can be used on or off it...
Not to mention it was like $3 cheaper so I bought one.

Has anyone had success with the Quaker Boy Can?
    Thanks.

I have never used one. Maybe I will check it out, as the Primos can does not work well for me. Only called in one deer with it ever.

VT, I killed a 7 pt in 1995 while using a Quaker Boy Bleat in Heat. Came running right in. It had an orange label and it was pretty loud. I lost it and replaced it with a newer green label one, but it does not seem to throw the same volume. I also carry the Primos can and use the two together. Have been able to pull some does and small bucks to them, but not Mr. Big as of yet. Used other tactics for those guys that I killed this year..

    JimT-
Thats one more then me. Its NEVER done a thing for me. Now I have had luck with an old "hands free" small Primos 5 in 1 call but not the smallest of their Can calls.
I have high hopes for the new one I just picked up.

Thanks for the positve review "Good Ol"...

The can is a tool just like anything else (scents, rattling horns, grunt tubes etc...) timing is everything. I've used the can many times with no results, and other times had them running in. I've rattled in bucks before and also had zero luck with horns. Same with scents...use a doe-in-heat scent on the right day (don't care what brand) the bucks will come!

On a side note, have you ever heard a doe bleat? Its not very loud...I guess a loud "can" would work if you can see the buck and he isn't real close. Maybe its just me, but I've never heard a doe bleat loudly. Don't know much about the QB can, but would guess it will work just fine if the timing is right.

You are right about the loudness of the doe bleat. Most of the time it is soft. When they are standing and needing to be bred it is quite loud. The same goes for a buck grunt. The more frustrated the buck the louder he grunts.

yep. quaker boy is the only can call i've ever had. the little ones sound too much like fawns, and the bigger ones sound too much like cows.

the quaker boy doesn't work all the time, but it works enough for me to keep trying it, that's for sure.

VTbowman, I have the H.S. big can and my dad has the Primos big can. You can barely hear them. As matter of fact, the H.S. just quit working on me yesterday. Last week I was in camp discussing the volume of these cans and a buddy had a Quaker Boy can. Not sure which one(Bleat or Bleat II). Wow I was impressed with the volume of his can.

Thats what sold me. The volume of a small sized can.
JMO but I feel I need to reach out there while using it.
I "cold call" 99% of the time so I need volume to reach past where I can see.
Which is normally not a buck... LOL

Ive got the quaker boy Bleat-In-Heat can and have had alot of success with it. I used it to call in my 8pt I took last year and once my tags were filled I filmed for a buddy of mine. I used it and called in a wide 8pt with it as well, got it all on film.

i've used the qb for 4years and it was very successful with bringing deer in. i gave it to my dad because he started getting back into hunting last year. i went out and bought the primos original can to use this year. i haven't had any luck with it even with deer in sight they just look up then just go about their business. so i think i might go back to quaker boy sorry primos.

To be honest I was looking for "The Great Big Can" by Primos but no one had any on the shelf. Dicks had like 50 of these which made me skeptical about buying something the general public was not buying. But I was desperate for a louder "Can".
I think its gonna be an interesting season now. Tons more faith in it then my old Primos "Lil-Can" and they are about the same size...

Never tried a can, but I've heard better things about the QB than the Primos cans. I like QB a lot anyway.
