I need a little help

hey guys/girls

i have a 2004 martin saber se with cobra sidewinder 3 pin sights, a quicktune 800 rest, a quiver, 4 arrows, a soft padded case, and a cobra black mamba release. i was wondering what this bow is worth in candian funds? it has about a 1000 arrows through it. great shape only one very minor scratch. i am wondering this because i am looking to sell it or trade it in and get a cross bow. i just dont have the time any more to get good enough with it to hunt. Who is making a good cross bow now that is a good price and package?

o jeez, just about any crossbow you buy these days is gonna be good .. i know that Excalibur makes their crossbows with recurbve limbs, and they shoot over 350 fps ... ive seen one shot beofre, and theyre very accurate, too ... duno how much they cost, though... im not quite sure how much your bow is wotrh, but i hope my crossbow advice helps ... if anyone cares to contradict, please do so

Just my opinion...but I'd much rather hunt (if physically able to) with my compound than with a crossbow. Have you ever shot one? They are louder (much louder), akward to handle in a tree stand...and they are not the silent rifle that everyone thinks they are. They will shoot accurately...but loose alot of energy beyond normal bow and arrow distances.
IMO...you need to practice with a Xbow just as much! Besides, you owe that much to the animal which you are hunting!

Sorry, I also couldn't begin to tell you what your bow is worth or what Xbow would be good.

I Shoot a Horton XBow it is very accurate and the "dial a range" is a pretty unique feature.

I have to agree 100%.
I shot a few of them and was disenchanted with how little power they really have and thier ranges are no more then a mediocer compound bow. I thought you could get a good 50 to 75 yards out of them but was saidly mistaken.
30 or maybe 40 yes but no more then that and they shoot much lighter arrows (bolts) so they dont have that knock down power one would think with the speeds they boost.
After shooting one I really dont see how any bow hunter could have a beef against them.
They are not a supior weapon over a compound at all.
They are fun and you can hunt efectively with them but they are no better or easier IMHO.
BTW you need to practice as much with them as with a bow so its not like a gun at all.

If you want one then my advice is to check on Cabelas web site as they seem to have quite a few choices and are probably the best price going.

The guys are right about practice. I've put about 25 or 30 shots through mine this month and will continue to. You don't have to spend hour upon hour with it once you've figured out the mechanics, but it's definately something you need to have good muscle memory on. Practice is always the key.
