Thread: Which Binocs?

  1. #1

    Default Which Binocs?

If you could have any binoc, regardless of the price, which make and model would it be?

I would have to put my money down on a pair of 10x42 Swarovski EL's. I just don't know of any glass out there that is better. The Leica Geovid would be a close 2nd because of the built in rangefinder.

I got a pair of Leica 7x40. Plan on using them this elk season. I wish I'd had them several years ago on my sheep hunt. Nothing like GOOD glass. CB

I have the swaro El's. Under the advice of Steve Beilgard and the things he said about my Burris glasses last season I shelled out the cash. If you haven't looked through a pair of swaro, zeiss, or leica's you haven't looked through anything. They are a night and day difference from my burris glasses. I plan to but a swaro spotting scope for next season.

Leica or Zeiss..........The Leica binos are awesome but cost as much as a vehicle. The Zeiss classics are more economical and pretty darn good.

Swarovski are probably the best I have looked through in awhile, Zeiss, true Zeiss(german glasses) are unbelievable also. What they sell for US glass is not the same grade. This would all depend on what I was using them for, glassing out west I would go with the Swarovski, here in Florida or where I hunt my choice is the Nikon Monarchs.

I am surprised no one mentioned the Leupold Gold Rings. I would like to get the Leica Geovid's, b/c of the rangefinder/binoc in one. I just don't know how much quality I would be giving up while passing on the Swarvoski EL's. It's a hard choice when you are talking about buying a pair of glasses that you want to last a lifetime.

I would get Swarvoski. I have Wind River (Leuopold) Olympics and like them alot. They are very nice and they're affordable.

I know some glass that's probably better. The Zeiss 10x42 FL's are the brightest sharpest Binos out there right now. Zeiss put flouride in the lenses to increase light transmission sharpness & defenition. I looked through a pair at the local hardware store about 9 pm one evening. They were incredible!
