    Default Scope residue

There appears to be a residue in between the two rear lenses of my scope. I screwed off the eyepeice and the dirt remains. I dont know where it came from because it has been in the cabinet ever since hunting season ended. The scope has an over the counter warrenty but I dont want to do that because its on my muzzleloader and that means alot of cleaning and shootin to sight in a new one. Any advice or info would be appreciated.

They should be sealed! If it is inside it's probably time to send it in and get a replacement! If you don't and dirt got inside it will probably get moisture inside next and then you won't be able to see through it at all. Look on the bright side you have an excuse to go shoot the gun alot!

Like said above, it should be sealed. What brand of scope is it?

If it were me, ml or not I would have it fixed if it has a warranty. You surely dont want to be holding on a buck of a lifetime and end up not being able to see it clearly through the scope. Somehow seems a little extra cleaning would not be that big of a deal then.
