I have an idea for (what I think would be) a new ladder stand design. Has anyone else here ever looked into the next steps?

If it's something that could be produced, it would certainly have a marketplace...I just don't know where to begin. Any advice?

i know EXACTLY what to do...just send my the design and everything and ill take care of it for ya ....lol, j/k, i'm not sure what you would have to do...maybe build a demo type and get a patent put on it. then go around to different outdoor stores and show it....thats the best i could come up with

I believe your first step will be to have a working proto-type, and then talk to a patent lawyer. A friend of mine had come up with a foolproof method of figuring tire stagger on race cars, and he started the process, but never followed through with it.
