I got a ECW Mummy style/long Military Surplus SleepingBag from Ebay for under $20 including shipping.
It was Like new...no blemishes, tears, or repairs.
They're not too much designed for looks...LOL...but sure cant beat their functionality!!!

I just checked on there and now they are going for a higher price than what I paided.
When I was looking I just kept checking until I found one in my price range. Eventually one of the long-term Military Surplus sellers there had a bunch of them for sale and thats when I scored.

I'm 6' and when I first got my sleepingbag I tried it out.
I got in it and my beagle was going crazy!
He climbed in the top part as I played hiding from him, with my legs extended, towards the bottom of the bag. He layed down near my head and I still had a couple inches left over at the bottom!!!

As far as brands go I've owned a couple of the Walmart bags(have no idea who made them) which worked somewhat. Also owned a North Face that cost me around $200 when I bought it.
I'm actually much happier with the Surplus bag than any I have owned before...especially for the cost.
It is heavier than alot of the bags out there these days though.

    Check out www.REI.com

They not only sell quality products, but they also have a very informative buyers guide section on their website.
