    Default climbing tree stand advice

I'm torn between two climbers and am hoping for some thoughts. I've narrowed it down to the Lone Wolf sit and climb and the Equalizer tree stand.

Both are up there in price for sure. I hear a lot of great things about both though. I feel this is one area you get what you pay for. I've been using lesser stands and I'm just tired of the noise, fumbling in the dark, and packing weight and discomfort.

I hike in pretty far and it's hilly. I want a small light stand like the Lone Wolf. You can't beat that one for that. However at the expense of a little more weight and size, the Equalizer leveling system for some reason really appeals to me also. I also like the way the Equalizer litterally locks onto the tree for added sense of security.

So,,, question for you Lone Wolf veterans: Is this stand light and easy enough to use that you could disonnect the strap and readjust it once up in the tree to level it if need be? I've tried this with my older heavy steel stands and it was not possible in my mind. Scary actually!!

Any thoughts on the pros and cons of these I would appreciate. Thank you.

p.s. I've decided against all the others. ie. summit, gorilla, api so thanks for not entering those in the discussion.

I don't have any experience with either of these. I am curious why you decided against Summit though. I realize you didn't want to discuss it here so maybe PM me???

I've got a buddy with the equilizer and he loves it. He says it works just like they say it does and is very stable. If your hiking long didstance I would go for light.

At first glance the equilizer looks more comfortable.

    guess I wasn't much help.

    I like my summit.
Luke 22:36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

This is from a guy who owns an Equalizer and owned a Summit. As far as I am concerned the Equzlizer is far superior to any other stand on the market. Frankly, the summit just seemed to cheesey in comparison to the Equalizer. I think if Equalizers would be sold at all the big chain stores like cabelas, bass pro, gander mtn, etc. there would alot more people using them and loving them.

A fine stand that I would absolutely recommend to anyone!
