boots-scent lok

Been looking at some scent lok lined boots from cabelas, but it does not say if the lining is removable. How do you activate the carbon in a pair of size 13 boots if the scent lok lining is not removable. Using the dryer just does not seem like a very good option.

Thats a good question I've been wondering the same thing.

Me personally I'm going to stick with scent free rubber boots.

William, most driers have a rack that you can sit the boots on to dry, so they don't make noise as they tumble. You might have too see whether yours has one available. I don't own any Scent-Loc. Not sure if I helped or not. But I too will just stick with what has been working for me in the past.

William are you dead set on Scent-Lok ? Have a look at the boots from Scent Blocker, I own a set of the high ones and they are great, also has the insert that snaps out and goes in the dryer to activate.

No, I am not dead set on anything, but do need snake proof protection in whatever boots I go with, and they absolutely MUST be waterproof. Would prefer to keep the cost within reasonable limits. The scent lok is really just an added plus, but if the liner is not removable, just dont see a way to activate it?

They require boot dryers to reactivate them William. More added cost just to reactivate those boots that they don't tell you about.

Although I truly believe in carbon suits, I draw the line when it comes to the boots. I use rubber boots and wear my pants leg over the boot. Tighten the draw string on the cuffs around my boot ankles and go with that. Any scent coming out of the top of my rubber boots is, for the most part confined to the inside of my suit. That way it doesn't matter which of my rubber boots I decide to wear depending on the temperature and I beleive I'm at least as scent free as scentloc boots.

Now, there's is a new uninsulated scentblocker boot that has a removable charcoal liner called the Dream Season Boot. They are new for this year. I haven't looked into them in detail yet though but I will need a new pair of uninsulated boots this year for warm weather hunting. If they are too proud of them I'll stick with rubber boots. My old uninsulated rubber boots are worn out after 8 to 10 years of use.

I know LaCrosse used to make a snakeproof rubber boot but I'm not sure if they still make it anymore. I have a pair of them but they wear blisters into the sides of my ankles so they are collecting dust in my garage now. I only wore them once though so they aren't even broken in yet. If you can wear a size 9, PM me an addy William and you can try them out.

LOL, thanks for the offer there Al, but even if I had no toes, dont think I could squeeze my skis into a size 9. I have to get 13 wide or extra wide boots.
