Dont have much experience with commercial ladder stands, all ours are home made steel stands. For a climber though, you get get a summit for under $200. They are great stands for the money.

Summit its a great stand. You can also buy some generic ladder stands for under $200. Personally ive only sat in a ladder a couple of times but I LOVED it. Im using a summit right now but wouldnt mind buying a ladder or two.

Walmart carries some good ladder stands for well under 200.
Luke 22:36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

Thats the ones im thinking of John. Are the lone wolf or whatever that cheap brand is?

Their climbers are heavy but thats exaclty what you would want in a ladderstand, stability.

Dont think so Jeramie. Lone Wolf stands are priced quite high. The wal mart stands are priced fairly reasonable, with current steel prices, I cannot buy the materials to build a ladder stand like what they sell for $60. Wal marts here primarily sell ameristep, and gorilla stuff.

Noticed a local shop here about 30 minutes from us was running an ad in a shopper for some 15 foot ladder stands for $59.99. Was not familiar with the brand they were selling though. Might watch for sale ads in local papers.

I'd go with a Gorilla. That's who bought Ol' Man out. You should be able to get a decent sized climber for close to 200.
I figure God only gave me so many sunrises, I might as well not miss one.

I've used the ladderstand from Hunter's View and I think one from Comfort Zone and they are reasonably priced under $100.00. Never had problems with them. I'm 53 so climbers are out but this year I went with a Gorilla Kong and a 20 ft. mini-ladder, just for the lower profile and ease to move it. I've had deer come right under my ladder stands though and never saw me or paid attention to the ladder. Dick's was having a great sale last week on stands. Don't know if it is still going on but it would be worth ckecking out. They had Ameristep Rapid Rails on sale for $59.99. Just saw a 15 ft ladderstand in Cabela's for $89.99 by Pine Ridge.

You can get a good ladder for under $100.00 at Dicks. I prefer Summit climbers. I think I paid $229.00 for my Viper. Worth the extra $30.00 for sure.

I just use cheap Strong Built 15' ladder stands from bass pro. You can get 3 of them for under $200.

I also use the cheapo Strong Built ladders...we got 3 of them and never had any problems. I always buy an extra piece of ladder to get me at 20'. Had them for years and can't say anything bad about them. There are prob. a little more comfy stands...but I've sat in these for hours on end with no issues.

Dick's has a 15-foot ladder stand on sale this week for $50, and a few others ranging in size and price.
