    Default foodplot help quick!!!

we planted our foodplots over a month ago. Since we planted we have not gotten one drop of rain. There is some rain in the forcast over the next few days though. My question is should I take a seed like wheat, that you can just through out, and top seed my plots or just leave them alone and hope that some of the seed has survived the last month of drought?

I'd throw some winter wheat out there right now..it will not hurt the other plants at all...maybe you will have something there to attract deer l;ater this fall then... next spring or early summer go and mow the wheat after it has developed heads...that will let the plot grow that you had planted IF it has survived the drought..Your seed should be ok if it did "not" germinate yet...You may want to throw some seed out in the spring when the snow melts???/OR when you get some moisture in the spring..a bit more seed cant hurt..

i agree with martin--not going to hurt a thing to broadcast a little wheat down. Just remember though--the seeds from mother nature sometimes sit a year before they germinate---more than likely your seeds are just waiting under the surface for a little moisture to get them started!

    good luck
