does anyone mow their purple top turups? I have some weeds comming in and want to cut them back before they go to seed. the only thng holding me back is the purple tops. can they be mowed? will shore help to be able to knock the weeds back.

I don't think it is recommended to mow the brassicas. They will probably respond just like the weeds your are trying to knock down.

Same here. Still haven't had any luck as far as attracting deer to brassicas though..
I wouldn't mow the brassicas. The leaves will eventually shade out the weed. Running over the brassica with a mower probably would damage the plants.
I mow my turnip greens and they come back just fine... should work with brassicas too.

Turnips are brassicas. Okay.
I'd mow high if the weeds are going to flower (and thus make seed). Some of the spring weeds grow very fast, and would already have produced seed by the time the turnips caught up to shade them out.
A few years ago I had turnips growing in one of our plots with our clovers, I mowed, they came back fine too.
