For those who plant roundup ready soy beans--how high do the beans have to be before you hit surrounding weeds with roundup?
Question #2--if you're using 41% glysophate, how many ounces of roundup do you use per gallon of water?
Thanks.![]()

question one--I don't think they have to be a certain height but I sprayed mine when they were about 4" tall.
question two: 2 ounces of roundup per gallon of water is what I use when I spot spray or 2 quarts per acre.

I went ahead and sprayed yesterday, we'll see if I killed the plants or not.
Only 2 ozs. per gallon?I've been using way too much. I'll cut back from now on.

You were right! I checked it this morning and the weeds are dying off, but the beans look unaffected.
I love technology.![]()
We sprayed when the weeds were about 6 inches high at 1 qt per acre last week. It must have worked because the only green plant in the plot is the RR beans and RR corn.
Born2Hunt is right. 1 qt. per acre is good for weed control in RR soybean or RR corn. The water you are using is a carrier for the herbicide. As long as you get 1 qt. per acre on the plot you will get the results you are looking for.
