they got my plots all ate down to the ground...
Even the turnips and rape?
you got acorns???
nope--the does are hitting the plots hard early morning and late evening. The bucks are in the plots after dark. I was bow hunting last saturday evening and had 6 does feeding on the plot.

Todd,
They were spotty this year and most were dropping 2-3 weeks ago.I hoped they would be gone so the deer would be hammering the plotsbut there must be some still dropping.
I chose to plant a combination of winter wheat and winter rye this fall because I'm revamping all my plots and this is my "phase 1". I'm loving what I'm seeing. I've seen a handful of does, but in the 4 times I've hunted there I've seen the same 12 pointer each time (just not in bow range), as well as a 10, a 9, and 2 8's. I've watched the 12 feed for over 5 hours now. Too bad gun season wasn't open.![]()
Got acorns here too and a lot of them at that. The deer are hitting my clovers fair though and the winter mix from Martin along the brush pile is getting hammered, the other one is not seeing quite as much action.
Bill yes my winter blend is HAMMERED!!! Think you will love it after this fall..
my food plot was a bust this yr, never got past about 1/8 inch i guess the lack of rain did it in.
Hardly any acorns here this year, and the small plots are chewed to the ground. (not enough acres) Mostly rye, brassica, and clovers.

Yep, Martin, I am sold on this blend for sure. Still got about half a bag left for next year, but may buy and plant more than I did this year.
