    Default Question about Pheasants Forever

I used to contribute to PF every year. Growing up in MN and enjoying the sport of pheasant hunting, I felt this was a worthwhile contribution. My problem is that there is a landowner back home that is big into PF and utilizes money from PF to make improvements to his land on which he doesn't allow hunting except for those that pay him to do so. I don't have any problem with him utilizing his land however he wants to. But I do have a problem with him using money from PF (part my money) to profit from. I'm I out of bounds here, missing something? Someone help me out here.

All I can do is scratch my head. I would say they should not fund it unless it is open to the public.

    BUT

He is still helping the habitat for the birds . Catch 22 I guess.

If he were simply using funds for improving his land and letting only guests hunt there I'd not really have a problem with that. Some birds will escape and add to the overall numbers. OK? BUT if he is allowing fee for hunting There is where I would really have a complaint.
I can't believe PF is aware of his motives. If they are and continue to support him I would lose a lot of respect for their organization.
I raised Pheasants when I was young in a program sponsored by 4-H. We released them on various farms in the area. I got paid one dollar per bird realeased. Not a high profit enterprise by any means. The cost of feed, pens, brooder house lamps and electricity was all born by the raiser. I did learn a lot though about caring for the birds. The last year I participated I got 108 chicks. At the end of 8 weeks I released 108 birds. I got a special award for a perfect score.
A couple years ago I looked into a Pheasant rearing program. One of the criteria was, to get involved you had to allow open hunting on your property, I backed off as it would have interferred with our deer hunting.
