Food Plot for DEER & TURKEYS ???????

We've finally got turkeys back on the place after about 15yrs so I've decided to plant something to help them food wise and help keep them in the area.
Is there anything that will benafit deer and turkeys?
I don't have but about an acre to work with so I'd like to help both if I can. If not I would lean more towards planting for the turkeys and keep my protien licks and feed for the deer.

Clover/trefoil and chickory. The turkeys hammered our clover/trefoil plot all summer long here. Have heard chufas work well too, but have not ever planted them.

clover---i've had deer and turkeys feeding together on my clover fields.

clover, alfalfa, chufa.....its all good to turkeys

alotta times turkeys go to foodplots to eat bugs


but the chufa has tubules (sp) that grow under ground that turkeys apparetnly love and dig up

buckwheat and corn has always worked for me. i am starting to get into the clover and Biologic stuff. we have always planted traditional stuff.

We have seen the most turkeys in our clover plots. They eat the seeds as well as the grasshoppers and other bugs.

I think I'll go back with the clover on my plot. It burned up in our drought last summer and was going to have to replant anyhow.

i think clover is your best all around plot.....it attracts a lot of insects during the spring and summer months...poults love it...

Chufa will work very well but needs to be planted in the summertime.
