    Default bio-logic

i planted bio-logic "hot spot" last year. it is supposed to grow in low light conditions, but i had trouble with it. has anybody had success with it? there was a pretty heavy rain a few days after i planted it. i'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

This may have been due more to the soil preparation than the seed quality. What steps did you take to prepare the seed bed before planting?
The rain should have been a good thing unless it was so hard it washed the seed away. This is one reason all seed makers recommend a firm seed bed.

did you just broadcast the seed on top of the ground or work it in? A light rain when broadcasted in a no-till method is great--a heavy rain (especially if on an incline) will have a tendency to wash away a lot of the seeds.

I've planted several of the biologic mixes and they have all germinated very well--the only one I've had no luck with is Full Draw. It came up great but the deer never touched it.

Would also look at your soil prep. Really heavy rains can wash the seed away like said above.
