How many work shift work?

I was just sitting here in my last hour of my night shift and got you wondering how many of us work shift work??? I work 12 hour shift and I LOVE it.I work every other weekend,never more than 3 shifts in arow(unless you work O.T. or an exchange) so that works out to only 15 shifts a month.

11pm to 7am (Sun. night to Fri. morning) for the past 12 years! Well, I was on day shift for a little bit...but mostly night shift.

I don't like it...trying to get steady day shift.

It's great to take 4 days of vacation, and get 12 day in a row off.

Nope...standard workday here. Usually around 8-5 M-F.

Straight evenings 3-11, cuts in on the evening hunting, but leaves alot of time for AM hunts!

9:45 pm to 6:10 am Sunday to Sat. morning most weeks. I hate it, but it is good for hunting and fishing. Its killing me health wise and negates any kind of normal social life.

firefighter here, 24hrs on 48hrs off. 7am shift change. 1 vacation day, gets you 5 days off. 4day vac gets you 8 off, 7 gets 11, 10 gets 14 so on. in nov, i got down 12 days worth of vac, and i am off 20 days straight.

I work monday threw Friday 7am to 5 pm. Then I also help customers after hours if need be.

I work 12.5 hour shifts here. 7:00 to 7:30. I rotate between mids and nights. I work every other weekend and only have to work 14 days a month.

i am supposed to work 7-7 3 days a week but lately i have been doing 7-7,7-5 2 days nad 10-6 to get 4 days and 40 hours.

I've been working nites(mostly 2nd)for 23yrs,Sun.-Thurs. 3:30pm to 12:00am.

I work rotating 12's, and with our schedule we can take our releif week off (32 hours) and have 14 days off....

I've worked them for 6 years and hate it with a vengeance, and would give anything to be back on straight days....like Snapper.........seema like I'm working every important day like holidays and birthdays.....I'm missing my kids grow up, plus it is hard...extrememly hard on the body......

My wife and I have discussed it, and it looks like April 1st, 2006 is my last day regardless of what happens.......my family and health are more important than the job.......
