I bought a home last year and the paint was apparently just sort of patched on there. I also have a decent amount of water damaged trim (brick molding, etc) around the garage door, front door, windows, etc. that needs to be replaced. I could do it all and paint it but the roof has a heavy pitch and by the time I invest the time and buy the materials and pay the hospital bills when I fall....well it might be worth paying someone.
I have two quotes that come in right around $1,900 - 2,000 for the job.
That includes pressure washing, priming the weathered areas with a special bonding primer, replacing all the bad pieces of wood trim and a couple pieces of siding and one window sill, and painting with either Sherwin Williams or Porter paints.
Is that about normal for just the trim or is that high? The carpentry work adds a lot to the job but would be a pain for most of it and impossible for me to do myself for a little of it.
Thanks,
New
