I checked the draw results on the Colorado Division of Wildlife website. I didn't draw a buck tag but instead drew a doe tag. When I sent my app off I had made the decision not to go if I drew a doe tag. Afterall, I can kill a doe here at home. However, I changed my mind and will make the trip. Well, I sent off my mule deer tag app for Colorado. This will make the third year I have been able to go. Really hope the finances (and wife) continue to allow me to go, it's truly an amazing experience each time. My first year was phenominal (sp?) with well over 200 deer seen and the opportunity to harvest my first mule deer, which is hanging on my wall now. Last year was a bit of a bummer. No where near the amount of deer seen as my first year. Warm weather still had the deer up in the mountains.

January 16th 2011 marked the last day of the 2010/2011 deer season for me. This season was another bust, but not a total bust. I managed to kill a small 2x3 in Colorado back in November however that was the only deer I would harvest for the season, there and home. I had trail cam pictures of at least 3 shooter bucks at the lease. None of which came out during daylight hours. Matter of fact, I didn't have any deer come out while I was on stand. Wednesday November 3rd seemed like such a long time off back in July when I sat at my parents camp site on Lake Sam Rayburn and discussed our Colorado hunting trip with dad and our friend Richard.
