I was looking over your profile and seen that your dad had a stroke or some kind of brain injury. Just wondering how he is ? I have a brother that was in a car accident and has brain damage . We take care of him 24/7 he don't talk but we feel he is in there . He loved 2 hunt,fish and play softball and now he can't do anything but god has a plan we just don't know wat it is

Sorry for the late response John. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too.
Hit the woods the morning after Christmas and came home the afternoon of Jan. 7th. Didn't see a buck I wanted to kill but saw a few nice 8's and a 9. Passed the 9 at ~15 yards. Sent some younger hunters to hunt those stands but the good bucks I saw didn't show themselves while they were hunting my stands. That's deer hunting!

Not good news on my dad. He had another stroke on 1/30 caused by a bleed on the opposite side of his brain. Fortunately it stopped on it's own that evening but it has affected the area in his brain that controls speech and understanding. He has been talking some the past week or so. I'm not sure what the future holds for him to enjoy any sort of quality of life. Prospects look grim! I'm down here in LA again. Obviously I've been here a lot lately. Not much I can do now except pray since he's back in the nursing home undergoing more therapy...mainly speech. Heading home tomorrow.

Haven't been in the woods much at all except I had to loosen & pull some stands this past Saturday afternoon & Sunday. Didn't get a chance to do any listening for roosted birds yet. Hope to do that Sunday morning. That will be my next chance to be in the woods.

Not originally but I've been living here since 1982. Also went to college at Mississippi College from 1972-76. I'm originally from Louisiana. Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there again.

Thanks for accepting it. Congrats on the birds that you got this year. My season opens tomorrow and I am so excited. I will keep you posted.
