Well the first day in the woods came and went without a single deer sighted. I hunted my Shinewell lease both morning and evening and didn't see anything other than squirrels, birds and a raccoon.
The only thing that happened worth noting was that sometime during my walk out that morning or my walk in that night, I must've caught my sight on a limb or bush.

Guess its that time again. Time to dust off the ol' blog.
This season is going to be a "?" for me. On one hand, my finances are a little better due to me purchasing a local tire shop for some extra income. But on the other hand, my time in the woods may be shortened due to the tire shop as well.

Climbed in the stand at around 1:30. Hunted til dark. Right around 6:45, I heard Stacey's crossbow go off. He had spined a small 7 point. After about a 100 yard drag we were on our way home.
After almost 12 hours in the woods, I just
Hunted The Last Oak Flat stand with my buddy Scott. I was planning on taking the evening off because another friend of mine was wanting to hunt our lease an hour north of here Sunday morning. That would mean getting up at 3:30 so I was going to rest this evening.
Scott called on his way home from work and talked me into going with him. He at first wanted to go to some public land that he hunts, but I talked him into to going to my family's property.
We didn't get on stand
