Ever notice how clean and shiny NFL helmets are on Sunday?

Game helmets must be reconditioned after every game. Anyone know if that's a fact or not?

I thought they were "reconditioned" after each game for a safety factor ... kinda like a hard hat for a job sight if something falls on it ... you have to get it checked and recertified... I just heard this not fact but that would certainly explain the shiny helmet .... they must buff them looking for cracks and such...

Yes, they are reconditioned after every game.......each player has a few different helmets, too.

yup, they usually get a new one each time, like mick said if they play, if they dont they keep the same one....i would rather see a bunch of yellow scrapes on a bear's helmet after killing the packers...but thats just me...lol

I'm not trying to say I'm old or anything ...............but............ when I was young and played football....We would butcher a sheep and wrap the hide around our heads for protection.............then.we'd slip down to Old Man Johnsons and steel ourselves a pig from his lot so that we'd have a ball.

Lost alot of good sheep in those days.......
