I say throw both boys out and let the games go on.
I agree with them getting thrown out but i think that 2 games is a little much, 1 game should be plenty. I know that there must have been tons of things going threw his head and he responded in the wrong way. I have seen that play about 20 times on the news and there is nothing else 2 say when you see it, both kids are in the wrong. I do think that if it were a lineman it would have never made it to the news, i can remember a bunch of time when i played there were a ton of cheap shots by both our oppoint and buy our team. bottom line LET THE KIDS PLAY FOOTBALL!
yeah i think i one game suspension would be good enough also....i remember when i was playing...someone on the other team tackled our RB and then called him the "n" word and the kid was still on the ground with our RB standing over him...and he got a nice look at the bottom of his shoe....and this was no tap....this kid could squat the weight of a small car...he got ejected for the rest of that game and one game after that.
We had a similiar thing happen a few years ago in my hometown. The only difference was in how that with about 1 minute left in the game, a full fledged fight broke out. The refs just called the game. No one was suspended; but both schools were looked at hard to go on probation the next year and not be able to go to the playoffs.
we had thet happen when i was in high school. isaac davis, who went on to the nfl with the chargers, hit a buddy of mine in the side of the head, open handed, after a play. it completely upended JB. the refs threw flags, and people started trying tp climb out of the stands and go after him. they threw him out of the game, but i am not sure about the next week. it almost got real ugly. the coaches were at the edge of the stands telling the daddies and students not to come on the field or they would be arrested.
Rules are Rules, enough said.
I think the folks involved have way too much time on their hands if they're going to court over a football game........tempers flare during games. Get over it already.
