Should Boise State be #1?

Seeing that Boise State went undefeated this season and BOTH Florida and Ohio suffered losses, does that make them the #1 team in the nation?

I think its time for a play-off system, a team goes undefeated and it should be the champion!!

The best team in the country won the championship. Boise will get there next year if they are the best. Their weak schedule and conference is why they got no respect. They didn't deserve a national title.....

Don't look at schedules and conferences, look at the determination these young guys have, they want to play and on any given night, any high ranked team can be beat!! Ohio State proved that last night!!

Lou to say not to look at the strength of schedule is silly. How many teams woulda went undefeated if they played the weak schedule boise had??? They barely beat a weak and struggling Oklahoma team.....they didn't deserve a title shot. Maybe next year.

Florida suffered one loss, Boise suffered no losses, makes a lot of sense!! Not like this colleges can pick their schedules. These bowl games are million dollar deals and it will be hard for other schools to show their talent to the world.

We all, or most thought Ohio State would hands down beat Florida State, the tables were turned and Florida gave them a beating. So what does the media know and "tougher" schedules mean?

It all goes down to determination and that Boise State team has it but can't show it to the world!!

Ok lets line my pro bowl team with two losses up against your high school team who is undefeated and see how that goes.....thats basically what your saying. Record doesn't mean crap. My baseball team in HS went undefeated my senior year....we made the first round in state and got hammered. I'm not saying Boise state doesnt deserve respect, but they woulda had losses if they had either OSU or Florida's schedule. By the way colleges do have a say in their non-conference schedules.......

I think the best thing to happen to the BCS system is to start having play-off games. All it will do is bring in more money to these schools and maybe hush all the critics.

To the media Ohio State had already won that game before they even took a snap, heck the kick-off and 16 seconds off the clock showed that Ohio State was there to play. Then something happend, Florida took the field and in the end put on a great show.

Just goes to show, all the hype does not always pick a winner or even call a close game. I personally think Boise could hang with Florida if not beat them.

Bottom line....do away with this BCS junk and have a playoff then you have a true champion. As we stand now I think that Boise state SHOULD be considered for the #1 ranking....at the very least #2. Kat just like you said your HS baseball team went undefeated in regular season and then lost in the playoffs. You want to be the champ you gotta keep winning simple as that. Yes I do think that Boise deserves the #1 rank.....THEY KEPT WINNING.

I say Boise state should be national champs with the undefeated record. Then maybe these big time schools who dont want a playoff system b/c of all the money they make for bowl games will push for a system to find the best team.
