flordia is now the natinal champions for basketball and football in the same year.... has that ever happend before?

Wisconsin won the men's and women's hockey titles last year...that was the first time for that

Well, same year, but different school year. Not sure that would qualify. Basketball was 05-06 and Football was 06-07 if you want to get technical. If they win the basketball title again this season then it would qualify.

In the same year, or just in general? I wouldn't think this situation would count as the same year.

It's holding the championship at the same time, not neccesarily in the same calendar year. Right now the NCAA basketball champion is still Florida, and they are obviously the NCAA Football champion as well.

Similar to the Tiger Slam in the PGA, all majors held at once, just not in the same year. Still a pretty good accomplishment.
