Theres a switch inside thats something like ON - TEST - STANDBY - OFF Just switch it to standby or test, move it and then switch it back to ON.

[/ QUOTE ] This is right. Do -NOT- put the switch to off. It will advance the film if you do. Just switch it to standby, move it, and turn it back to on.

[/ QUOTE ]JIMt, what do you mean advance the film, take a picture, go to the next frame?
If you turn the cam to the off postion and turn it back on it will advance the film a couple frames. In other words you will have some blank pics in the middle of the roll or wherever it was when you move the camera.
Just open the door enough to turn the switch to standby or even to the test position for the matter, then take it down and move it.

I will never buy a stealth cam again. the batteries dont last 3 days and the quality of the pictures are terrible! i would spent the money and buy a cudde back. Save your self a head ache!

Thanks for your input...but what does that have to do with the question? BTW, even in 0 degree weather, my batteries last longer than 3 days!
As for the question, if your just moving the camera close by...you'll be fine with the "test" mode. But I'm pretty sure if the camera is on test, it will shut off after a certain time.![]()
BBS---you must be talking about the SC digital not the 35mm. I have been really impressed with the quality of pics from my 35mm SC and the batteries last about a month on the 35mm SC.

My batteries in my stealth cam, not digital, last forever.
The batteries in my 35mm stealth also last a long long time and it takes pretty darned good pics for a cheapy camera.
Never heard of the mirror trick before and now I can't wait to try it. I have the digital version with the solar panel charging system (a Christmas present) and the pictures I have gotten are pretty high quality. I do know if you are getting a lot of pics requiring the flash you will be using up the batteries faster. Also, if you are taking several pics per actuation and have the rest time between actuations set at a relatively short time, you will go through the batteries life much faster. The mirror trick and then putting the camera on standby when moving it sounds like the way to go.
