    Default Cuddeback false advertising?

I saw on the back of my deer and deer hunting magazine a cuddeback digital advertisement where it put 5 cameras on one tree and walked by to test the shutter speed. It said cuddeback to .5 seconds which I guess I believe but it said the leaf river look over 5 seconds. Is that right? I thought it was 2 or 3.

Not so sure about the trigger speed on the leaf river, it i snot the fastest out there, but seems it is pretty decent. I have had a few night shots of deer walking away getting just the tail end of them in the shot, however the sensor only picks up directly in front, so the deer has to cross the center of the frame, and the directions do say that recharges for the flash will make for a possible delay. Depending on how close the deer is and how fast it is moving you might miss them alltogether if the trigger took 5 seconds to trip the shutter. I would guess the trigger on the leaf river is closer to being around 2-3 seconds on the high end.

The thing about Walt Larson's famous test is:
How can you test infrared on a VERTICLE alignment ??? Now if the cams were all on a 2x4 and horizontal you would have the same "PICTURE" of the heat source right? Did you notice where the CUDDYBACK was postioned?? RIGHT! on his HEAD! Where is the most heat lost??? I rest my case!

I'd like to buy one of those jobbies but apparently the bears in the area don't like their pics taken and they tear em up. I've heard it more than once and I'm not willing to take the chance. Those things are definately cool though. Oh, well.

I agree, but then if you were making the commercial, wouldn't you put your cam at the top of the pile? I would! Other wise, I could be saying my cam is not that good. I seen this commercial too. But having the Cuddleback on top to me is more of a marketing idea then heat. But you are very right about the area with the most heat loss! JMO.

To be honest, there are very few "fast" digital game cameras! I havn't had personal experience with the Cuddeback or Leaf River but I have heard that they are decent! I know that the digital Stealth cam that I had was possibly the slowest triggering camera ever made! I am talking about 10-20 second trigger speeds!

The fastest digital game camera that I have used is the Trail Mac Digital. This is probablly the best game camera I have used (but it is rather pricey). This triggers almost as fast as the 35mm, takes great pics, has amazing battery life, and has a very good flash!
