Another North Dakota SunRise....and Storm

Hey guys....took these on the way to work again this morning......and what a morning.......It started with a beautiful sunrise following some early morning showers............



As soon as I had taken this picture, the radio was announcing another severe thunderstorm warning.......the storm was a way off, but i did get an early pic....



As I got closer to work, it was quite evident where the boundary was between the cold and warm fronts........I knew from this shape of clouds, there was gonna be some high winds......turns out 70-80 MPH in fact...



And here is the picture I took, just before the leading edge hit........as I continued on to work, the first few gusts nearly knocked me in the ditch.....then the wind let up, and the downpour started.....

No Tornado this time.....and nothing like the pics that SaskSheds just posted....incredible....the dream of every guy with a camera...

What was amazing, is the sun had just started peaking up....it was almost completely daylight out.....and the minute that leading edge hit and "ran" over you, it was completely dark out again.....

For a quick tutorial, the first sunset pic is taken facing east, the second is facing to the north, the third is facing the NE, and the last one to the NW....as the storm approached from the NW heading SE....that's why the second pic has the funny orange glow to the clouds....it's eactually the effects of the sunrise reflecting off of it.....

Great pics & thanx for sharing.I know the pics dont do it justice.To see a storm coming like that & to feel the air & climate change is something you have to experience first hand.We will get another doozy here tonight with temp during the day going over 30'c today.People are picking uprooted trees off their lawns & cars here in Saskatoon this morning after last nights thunder storm.The river is running & rising like crazy do to all the rain in Alberta.

I hear ya SS.....temps are to be in triple digits, and it's so muggy it feels like you could ring the water out of the air...........a cold front swinging through could make things pretty nasty....
