Thread: DeerCam DC300

    Default DeerCam DC300

Has anybody tried one of the new DeerCam dc300s yet?

I believe they were listed in teh latest Cabelas catalog for $99. That a bit sheeper then the previous model Deercams and I was wondering how much quality was sacrificed to get the lower price tag.

    Any Reveiws would be appreciated.

I have a DeerCam DC 200. I paid a couple hundred 2 years ago. I was wondering the same thing. How much is sacrificed in the new version. It definitely looks the same as the 200

I paid right at $250 for my DC200 just 2 years ago. My guess is that digital cams are taking most of the trailcam sales and thats making the film cams much cheaper.

If you're looking for a trail camera I'd have to suggest going digital. They are more convenient and a lot cheaper in the long run because you don't have to deal with film.

Actually you can build a descent one, that will perform as well as or probably better than any film camera for around $100. Or you can build a top of the line digital (like penn woods or cam trakker) for about $300.

i doubt the quality has changed. I bet the digitals forced the price reduction. When I started using game cams they were the Deercam brand. Great quality & no complaints. BUT, they are not digitals. I wouldn't use a 35mm even if they were free.

I have 4 Leaf River digitals & average over 500 pics a week. I'm sold on the digitals for sure.

Natchezss.com has them for $85. I sent my Vision in a month ago and talked to a tech about the 200/300 difference. He said it is not an Olympus camera, but one built to their specs. It is not Expander compatable. All other specs are the same and the 300 pictures looked the same to him.

Digital is the way to go. Been really happy with our leaf river digital. Have a stealth cam 35 mm cheapy and it is ok. Dont really know much about the dc cams.
