Default HELP!! Leaf River (Ulead software) problem

Bummer....I bought 2 Leaf River Model DC-2BU. I've downloaded pics twice but now I get this dredded message every time as I'm trying to download pictures. I go through the download procedures and the pictures start downloading into the program before the box with this dredded message greets me.

"Ulead Photo Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Inconvience? What a poor choice of words for that.

I've tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it to no avail. I'm sort of getting at wits end here. Called for technical support and after waiting for a while it prompts you to leave a message describing the problem. I did exactly that 1 1/2 weeks ago and still no answer yet. Sent them a written request on their technical support form today and waiting for an answer...again.

Does anybody have a clue how to fix this or should I just shoot the dang thing and put it out of its misery.

Not so mad that I haven't quite lost my sense of humor yet but my patience is running a little short now.

i wish i could help you but I don't use the ulead program that came with the camera. I just use my HP Photo Director to get the pics off the card.

Since you bought 2 LR cameras you should have 2 Ulead software CD's---did you try both of them--maybe one is bad?????

You can use any program to get the pics off the card or the camera. Try using one of your other photo programs.

    good luck

Do you get the pics off of a memory card or plug the camera in to the PC? I never use the software that comes with cameras, Windows XP will take them off just like the camera is a removable hard drive. I have found that is easier than installing the software that comes with the camera, unless there is something different about the leaf rivers I don't know about.

I dont really ever use the software that came with the cam. I use my card reader and just open the pics in my computer by clicking on the card reader, I can copy the contents of the card to a cd. Use microsoft picture it to do any editing I need to and paint to resize.

Yeah I use a card reader too thats built into a printer.....got a good deal on it......fast simple and easy....comes up on the PC in seconds....you don't need the cam software to see pics.

Thanks everybody for the advise. I finally did download some pics but had to delete some to get them best ones downloaded. I guess the file was just to big for the program. I never could get a CF card reader to work on my computer so I finally punted on those. 2 different card readers did nothing but lock up my computer so I've been downloading from one of the cameras while the other was busy. The only difference between past and present pics was I switched to High Res so the pics were 1.6 to 1.7 MB in size. Didn't have that problem on Normal setting. The program just won't handle 39 High Res pics even after deleting the undesirable pictures. I deleted enough to get down to about 2 dozen pics to download the High Res pics. Took a while since I had 3 CF cards to go through and do the same thing. BTW, I'm far from knowledgeable when it comes to computers but maybe before I die I'll figure more things out in the years to come.

I'll post some of my pics real soon. Got some pretty cool pics of bucks, does (the ones I didn't delete), hogs, hens and polts, gobblers and a bobcat scanning the area from the top of a log. No partridges in a pear tree though.

You can always get the Lexar Card Reader. It costs about $25 and plugs into an open USB port. It will read 12 different types of media. Billkay told me about I think! But anyways it works great! Go here!
