how long do you leave out your trail cam

do you take it out before your season starts or do you leave your cam out all season

I usually leave it out for a week or two before checking it. But I don't bring it in until the card is full or the batteries are dead. Sometimes I'm not patient enough and look at the pictures I got after just a couple of days.

I try to leave it out during season but am usually too busy hunting. I'm always afraid that I'll have it in one spot and be hunting in another then miss a buck and just get his picture where I should've been hunting.
