okay so i have two moultrie game camera's 1.3 and the 3.1. i have only caught one deer on the camera so my question is when you set up your cam if it has a laser pointer where do you point it on your body i usually set mine up right above my waist. is this to high ? and one more thing how long do you usually leave your camera's out in the woods i usually check mine once a week is this too often ?

It sounds like you're doing everything right. How far away from the trail did you set the camera up?

We set ours up on scrapes during the fall and don't set them any higher than our waist. We just make sure that deer's feet are in the pic, other wise it is getting pretty high. We have 3 LeafRivers and they can hole up to 800 pics with Memory Cards so we can leave them out for quite a while. check ours about every month just to make sure they are in a good spot, obviously during huntin season we can check ours about every week or so. Good luck!

Try putting it closer. It should be about 10 or 15 feet at most.

We have done a special test this week because of all the talk on the forums reference the Moultrie sensing. we have found that they like to be setup lower than most cams. We used 28 " and it was like they just started working. It appears that thier IR sensor is set for a higher angle than the older Moultrie 100 series. To correct for this we set the cams lower and angled them down a bit. Hope this helps. Bill www.chasingame.com
