Just bought a couple stealth cams from iminrut. How high should the cameras be up on the tree, and what is the normal range for these cameras? Any other info. would be appreciated. Wade

they should be place about waitst high. the basic cameras dont have very good range. the farthest pic i have gooten was about 20 yards from the cameras location. they a good starter cameras, i have 2 and love them but im thinking about upgrading to leaf river.
Thanks slug, thinking about putting them out this weekend. Can't wait to see what type of pics I will get. Thanks for the info.
sure thing, when you get them make sure to post em.![]()
i agree with slughunter, i have a basic stealth cam and here are some tips for it... 1st. i like to keep mine about 3 to maybe 4 feet off the ground...never point it east or west...the sun can trigger it i found that out the hard way..and missed a giant buck because i was out of film..2nd..i have found if you can point it down a trail instead of off to the side of a trail it gives you better chance of getting a good shot of the animal..i have had a lot of luck with the stealth cam brand and i just went and picked up a brand new stealth cam digital...i love this thing and it is quit the deal can even take video clips...i have some recent pics posted in the photo and video room if you want to check them out...good luck and i hope the tips work...cant wait to see what you get!
Have had best results with our stealth cam placed about 3 feet high.
yeah same here, only time i really go 4 is when i am facing a hill that way i can catch anything going up the hill as well
one thing i dont like about them is the slow trigger speed, this buck walked past the camera right in front of it and the camera didnt react as fast as it should have. here he is:
yea, you have to watch out for that sun, it will take tons of pics on its own.
Well, the cameras went out in the woods today. Will see what comes of it. Will post some pics if I am lucky enough to snag a couple of deer. Thanks guys for the useful info. Wade
