Wolf or coyote?

Found some film that escaped developing from last fall. Had this pic on it (edited here). What do you think...wolf or coyote?

Looks like a wolf to me too. Big neck, lots of space between the ears, and not so big ears also. Just looks too heavy for a yote.

Looks too heavy to be a coyote. Might be a wolf or could be a coydog, a coyote mixed with a larger breed of dog.

Definitely is a wolf. Too big to be a coyote. Coydog is possible, but you never know. Without getting into a huge discussion about coydogs, let's just keep it simple with coyote or wolf?

Just giving the possiblity Joe, what is wrong with a discussion .

One thing I am pretty sure from that pic is that is not a pure bred yote, they do not get that heavy. Without a better pic of the head and nose, really it is hard to say for sure what is pictured here. According to one of the wardens around here coydogs can be more common than you might think, and they can get some pretty good size on them. As most in here probably know there is a danger associated with coydogs in that where coyotes often fear man, the coydogs most often have no fear of man.
