Now I know your probably wondering why the heck this post is called what it is. Well you see, we named all of our bucks. The way we chose the name was by a certain characteristic each buck possessed, typically by the way its antlers grew, sometimes body features. Now I know your dying to see the pics so without further adieu, here they are...
Ok the first group of bucks to come into the yard last night was a group of three bucks. It was No Brows ( a big 6pt that doesn't have browtines ), The Other Guy ( an eight point that was dubbed the other guy because their already was an eight point in the area ) and a messed up 3 pt. The cam only got pics of The Other Guy and No Brows, the 3pt is fairly new to the area and is still learning his social rank.
No Brows:
Can he get anymore symmetrical?
The Other Guy:
Both of them together:
There is about an hours distance between the time the pics were taken of No Brows and The Other Guy because the neighbors dog chased the bucks off around 7:30 or so.
Then after these bucks did what they do in the yard, then came the real big boys. High Rack, Stripe, a small 6pt and that messed up 3pt again. The 3pt seemed to have left No Brows and The Other Guy and hooked up with the others.
Here they come:
Here is Stripe ( given name because of the white stripe on his right side ) :
Check out Stripes gut, it seems like he's really packing on the pounds!! His belly is almost as big as High Racks!!
High Rack ( given name because of the way his antlers grew ):
High Racks belly:
All the bucks focusing on High Rack waiting for his next move because he is the dominant buck:
In the above pic check out the buck off to the right of High Rack. That is the only picture I got of the messed up 3pt. Hopefully I can get better pics of him and show you folks.
And then of course, we can't forget about the little 6pt:
