    Default Cuddeback

As I had mentioned before, I was having problems with termites or small ants getting into my Cuddeback. I called Cuddeback today and spoke to a guy by the name of Eric and he was very nice and very helpful, but did tell me that it would cost $50.00 for them to look at my camera, plus parts if needed. I explained to him that I had thought insects getting in would be covered under warranty as the cameras are supposed to be waterproof, and if the bugs were getting in, moisture could. He stated that animal and insect damage for whatever reason was not covered. I hang up and wait a bit and call back and speak to another guy who again, is very nice and tells me the same thing. I am impressed with the customer service, the fact that I had no wait time on hold, and also the fact that both customer sales reps did not speak broken english. The only thing that kind of bothered me was the moisture thing. If the bugs can get in, so can the moisture, so I figured warranty. Nope. Oh well, I love my Cudde and will send it in for the repair/ cleaning.

I agree. You would think if bugs are getting in then so can moisture. Kinda strange.

Go to http://www.chasingame.com/ and read the review for the new Expert and Excite cams. I dont know what model you have but both of the newer ones have some water issues.

That is too bad Ken. Would think that would be a warranty issue seeing as the camera is quite clearly not sealing as it should. Really seems they are at clearly at fault for the problem here and should fix it at their expense, but that is just my opinion.

Gotta say leaf river too has great csr and techs. Seemed when I called them, they were just a couple good old boys from down in Mississippi. Had to send my cam in for the ribbon cable in the door to be replaced where it was wearing irregularly. I paid only the shipping to them, nothing else, and the turnaround time for the cam was very short, had it back in about a week.

how do you have it to the tree by cable or screws
if you have it by cable they included a small phillips head screw to block the other hole to keep insects out. Just wandering if you did that.

Yep, did that...I use the cable and from seeing the "dirt" in the hole where the security eye bolt slids in and hooks on the wingnut...I can tell that is where the majority at least are getting in. They are getting in around the cable. I am going to add a rubber o'ring around the eye bolt that will seal when the wingnut is in place. Should take care of any issues. Just was hoping they would eat the $50 bucks though.
