Default How far is to far?

Same question as my other post but how far do you feel a Moultrie 2.1 digital trailc am can take effective pics?
I know what the box/manual says but whats the real deal out in the woods and in the weather, etc..???

I asked both because some of the sign I want to get pic of have trees either 1-2 feet away or 20-30 feet away; if I am to keep the cam pointed away from the morning/evening sun.
Or 1/2" to 1" sapplings. LOL

Dont know about the moultrie, my leaf river is taking pics about 25 feet away and gets decent quality. The homebrew takes pics as far out as 60 with great quality.

My Moultrie does ok at about 15 to 20 feet.
Beyond that the flash just does not cut it.

I have had some pics that look empty until I fool around with the brightness, contrast, and gamma to lighten them up and then see a deer way out. The camera picked up the deer and took the pic but the flash was weak I guess.
Thats at about 20 yards or so.
    Not bad I guess.

I can still see what going threw at least...
