    According to the new rules that my area is in this buck is not legal to shot this year. I think it is the same deer that was a little basket rack 8 last year, he has gained some width and a lot of height since last year, next year or two he should be a nice one.

    Yep, that's the idea behind the new AR's. You've got a really nice 2.5 year old buck there that has the potential to grow into something special if he's given enough time. If you'd shot him last year or this year, well let's just say that all of that potential would have been wasted. Look for him to be about 17 - 18 inch wide 10 point next year.

    I am glad they put the regs in place, I watched him last year and passed him several times hoping the neighbors wouldn't shoot him. After season was over seen him and got pics and knew him when I got his pics in velvet this year. In a few years there should be some nice bucks running around my parts
