    i have no idea what caused that but if it was a bullet like what i think you are suggesting then yea he was lucky!!

    Probably a barbed-wire fence or could have injured it sparring. If someone did shoot his ear, then I guess he was pretty lucky.

    A lot of bucks aroud here have split ears from fighting , but I've never seen a hole like that. Could have very well been a bullet. Cool picture.

    Cool pic, not exactly sure wat caused it, I suppose a bullet, sparring or a barbwire fence would all cause that.

    could have been caused by anything...once I hit a fawn with my self propelled haybine...I slit its ear with the sickle just as I saw it and stopped..I moved it and checked it and saw it was a little buck fawn..momma was right there and off they went..Two years later..we shot a real nice 8 pt with the very same ear slit!!!
