advice on video cameras

The past two years I have been calling for people and been trying to video tape at the same time. I have successfully called in birds but the kill was not filmed well because I had to to free hand them. That video camera was my parents and now I am looking to get my own with a tripod. lol Any suggestions?

Using a sony handycam minidv here, and love it. Filmed some deer hunts this past year with it, and while my homemade camera mount worked out ok, think a good camera arm, mount, or tripod depending on the situation is a must with whatever camera you use.
