I bought a Sony 105 DVD camcorder last year and am very happy with it.![]()
Thanks guys. I've been looking into some of the Canons at Wally-World, just didn't know how they might be suited for low light/outdoor stuff.
yea if you really wanna get a good quality camera and don't mind spendin some money, you can get a hunting package from www.campbellcameras.com. it's what the pros use
I have been looking at the Samsung SCX105, SCX200, and SCX300 series of cameras.
10x Optical Zoom/100x Digital Zoom provides incredible zooming ability. Variable speed control is activated by automatic sensing of the amount of pressure applied to the zoom tab.
Record an MPEG-4 digital video clip, which has high picture quality and takes up little memory space. Video can be stored directly to your Memory Stick or transferred to your PC via USB.
680K Movie Optimized CCD delivers high-resolution video images with superior color resolution and detail. It surpasses the conventional camcorder with digital quality and its high performance PC interface.
Camera body is pocket-size and offers a non-slip surface. they usually come with a lipstick camera lens, so I can put the body of the camera in my coat or whatever, and mount the lipstick camera on my hat or tree stand with velcro or something. Supposedly weather proof.
Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) minimizes unwanted picture shaking caused by hand movement during recording.
Photo Mode Function allows for easy picture taking (800 x 600 resolution) and the ability to save still pictures into Memory Stick or Memory Stick PRO.
512MB Built-in Memory allows you to take photos and MPEG4 movies more conveniently. Combining built-in memory and Memory Stick PRO allows you to store your still images, MPEG4 movies, and important documents and files allowing you to review them anytime, anywhere.

When choosing a camera, stay away from models that boast high DIGITAL zoom......OPTICAL is what you want, because as soon as you start multipling the zoom in digital picture quality suffers.
When dealing with consumer cameras look into a camera with a 3ccd imaging system,Panasonic makes some real good ones for under $1000........and don't get roped into mini DVD or Hard Drive cameras.......mini dv format is what you want for the best compatibility and easy of editing.![]()
