i would have to agree with the 2 1/2 - 3 1/2, that deer is still pretty lean, thin neck, no pot belly, give him a couple more years he should be a real monster

    Welcome to the forums.

Texas deer? When was the pic taken, how recent? Looks to me like probably a 3.5 year old if it is a southern or Texas deer. A northern subspecies like a dakota or borealis, it would only be a 2.5 year old.

    Default Texas Deer

He is a Texas Hill Country deer, taken early last month. I was hoping for an older outcome but it looks like 3 1/2 is the age.
I'm going to let him spread those genetics for another year.
Thanks for all your replies, I'm glad I found realtree.com.

Somehow kind of figured that was in Texas, bet he has added a little more to that rack and probably also thickened up some in the neck and chest and will continue to do so until chasing begins. Hope you stick around. Post more pics for us.

I'm gonna say 3 1/2 also. Has some great potential if you could pass on him for a year.
I figure God only gave me so many sunrises, I might as well not miss one.
